Alera Moss’ Anti-Inflammatory Stew Recipes

Alera Moss has always believed that the best way to care for your body is through food that feels comforting yet purposeful.

Growing up in a small coastal town, she remembers her grandmother simmering pots of hearty stew that could chase away not only the chill of winter but also the aches of fatigue. Inspired by those memories, Alera began experimenting with recipes that combine comfort with wellness, focusing especially on anti-inflammatory ingredients.

Inflammation is often called the “silent cause” behind many common health issues, from persistent joint pain to dull, tired-looking skin. Instead of relying solely on supplements, Alera discovered that building meals around whole foods could make a real difference. Her favorite base always starts with slow-sautéed onions, garlic, and a drizzle of olive oil — an anti-inflammatory powerhouse that lays a fragrant foundation.

From there, she layers vegetables like carrots, celery, and sweet potatoes, each offering a burst of nutrients while keeping the stew naturally sweet and filling. To give the dish its soothing quality, she leans on turmeric and ginger. The golden hue of turmeric blends beautifully into the broth, while fresh ginger adds a subtle heat that awakens the senses.

One of her signature touches is adding lentils or chickpeas. “They give the stew heartiness without weighing you down,” she explains. Plant-based proteins not only keep the meal satisfying but also support a balanced diet, making the dish versatile for both vegans and those simply looking to cut back on red meat.

For Alera, food is never just about health; it’s about moments. She loves setting a pot of stew to simmer on Sunday afternoons, filling her kitchen with aromas that draw friends and family together. “It’s amazing how something as simple as a stew can create connection,” she says.

Her anti-inflammatory stew recipes aren’t about following strict rules but about weaving intention into everyday eating. With every spoonful, you’re not only nourishing your body but also slowing down long enough to savor warmth, comfort, and healing in the same bowl.
