Fitness fan and nutrition coach Brielle Foster understands how important protein is to maintaining high energy levels. “Protein isn’t just for bodybuilders,” she notes. “It keeps you going across the day, supports muscle recovery, and helps you stay full.”
For people seeking quick high-protein snacks, Brielle advises keeping things simple and tasty. “Greek yoghurt topped with a sprinkle of honey and a few nuts is among my favourites. It’s filled with protein, creamy and fulfilling.
Fresh fruit and cottage cheese are also mainstays of her diet. “Undervaluation of cottage cheese is evident! It’s heavy in protein and goes nicely with berries or a sprinkling of cinnamon,” she notes.
Made from scratch, Brielle chooses protein bars when on the run. ” Store-bought ones can be sugar-filled. I made mine with dark chocolate chips, almond butter, protein powder, and oats.” She also keeps boiled eggs accessible for a rapid protein fix.
For lovers of crunchy snacks, roasted chickpeas or edamame are great choices. “You can season them anyway you like; they are loaded in protein and fibre!”
Snacking, according to Brielle, should be fun as well as healthy. “Find what you love, build that habit, and you’ll never feel like you’re forcing yourself to eat healthy.”
