Rowan Dale’s High-Protein Vegan Smoothie Recipes

Rowan Dale never planned on becoming “the smoothie guy.” But after years of cycling through breakfasts that left him hungry an hour later, he found his answer in a blender.

“I used to grab toast and a banana and call it a day,” Rowan says. “Then I’d crash by 10 a.m. and end up snacking on whatever was around.”

When he switched to a plant-based diet, the challenge became bigger: how do you get enough protein without eggs or Greek yogurt?

That’s when he started building smoothies that weren’t just tasty—but truly filling. “I treated it like a real meal,” he says. “Not just a snack with fruit and ice.”

Each morning, Rowan layers ingredients for taste, function, and fuel. He uses plant-based proteins like pea, hemp, or soy powders. Adds fiber from flax or chia. Includes healthy fats—like avocado or almond butter. Then blends it all with frozen berries, oats, or leafy greens.

The result? Smoothies that keep him full until lunch, support his workouts, and taste more like dessert than diet food.

“I never feel like I’m missing out,” Rowan says. “And I never skip breakfast anymore.”

He’s since created dozens of combinations that suit different needs—post-gym, pre-meeting, even on-the-go. But his goal stays the same: make food that fuels, not just fills.

“Smoothies aren’t a trend for me,” he adds. “They’re a tool—and they work.”
