Juno Steele’s Best Kitchen Essentials for Clean Eating

When Juno Steele initially adopted clean eating, she soon understood that her kitchen’s layout determined success more than just what she brought home from the grocery. “You can have the best intentions, but if your kitchen makes it difficult to cook fresh food, you’ll find yourself slipping back into old habits.” She adds.

Juno sometimes felt overwhelmed in the early days by prewriting. Vegetable chopping seemed like a pain, and cleaning took years. But she started making investments in several gadgets over time that changed her attitude towards cooking. These were just useful items that made her daily life simpler and more fun, not showy devices.

Juno remembers what changed everything—allowing herself to simplify. She came to see she required utility rather than a fancy tool to prepare handmade meals.

Prepped faster with a strong, dependable knife. She had room to work on a robust cutting board. And her preferred non-stick cooking skillet? That set the scene for almost every meal she made, from lean meats and robust cereals to sautéed greens.

Not one she avoided, her kitchen gradually became a place she desired to be. She set out items she used frequently, olive oil, sea salt, spices, within reach. Her refrigerator started to show her new values: fresh herbs that encouraged imagination, containers of pre-cooked cereals, and chopped fruit jars. Though it happened over night, the change was significant.

“I used to feel scared and check recipes,” Juno admits. Looking at what I have right now, I am motivated. To her, clean eating is about feeling encouraged by your surroundings rather than only a way of life. And for that the kitchen is everything.
