Leora Wynn’s Vegan Weight-Loss Plan That Feels Like Self-Care

Leora Wynn had been on a weight-loss journey before, but something about it never felt quite right. “It always felt like punishment,” she says. “Counting, restricting, skipping meals… It just didn’t feel like care.”

But weight loss still lingered in the background. This time, though, she approached it differently—not as a battle, but as a kind of self-respect. “I stopped obsessing over calories and started asking myself, ‘How do I want to feel after this meal?’”

Leora’s new routine focused on nourishment. Smoothies packed with greens, berries, and flaxseed became her breakfast ritual. For lunch, hearty lentil soups and roasted vegetables. Dinners were light but satisfying—stir-fried tofu with brown rice, or chickpea patties with greens.

What made it sustainable was the kindness she brought into the process. If she wanted a vegan cookie, she had one. If she was tired, she rested. “I learned that taking care of yourself includes food, but it also includes grace.”

The weight came off slowly, but what she gained—energy, confidence, and peace—meant more than any number on a scale.
