Layla Grant’s Gut-Healthy Mediterranean Salads to Try

Layla Grant, a holistic nutritionist, thinks food has great ability to heal and nurture the body. Not only are her Mediterranean salads great, but they also abound in prebiotics and probiotics.

“The basis of general wellness is a good gut,” Layla adds. “And for gut health, Mediterranean foods including olives, yogurt, and fermented veggies are fantastic.”

Layla’s top choice is her Greek salad packed with probiotics. She substitutes a probiotic-rich variation of feta cheese instead of conventional one and adds some fermenting vegetables like sauerkraut or pickled onions. She comments, “It’s tangy, crunchy, and so good for your digestion.”

Her roasted veggie and lentil salad is also quite popular. “Lentils are a great supply of prebiotics; they feed your good gut bacteria,” Layla says. She tosses roasted zucchini, eggplant, bell peppers with lentils, olive oil drizzles, and lemon juice.

At last Layla enjoys her Mediterranean quinoa tabbouleh. She explains, “I load it with parsley, mint, cucumbers, and cherry tomatoes and use quinoa instead of bulgur for a gluten-free spin.” For a further probiotic benefit, toss a dollop of tzatziki.

Layla illustrates how simple it is to feed your body with these gut-friendly salads while savoring the vivid Mediterranean tastes.
