Ivy Lane’s Heart-Healthy Mediterranean Snacks to Try Today

Search for great, heart-healthy snack ideas here. Wellness consultant Ivy Lane lists nutrient-dense, simple Mediterranean-inspired foods that are quick to make.

“Greek yogurt with a drizz of honey and a handful of walnuts is one of my go-to snacks,” Ivy says. “It’s creamy, crunchy, and heavy in good fats.” Sliced cucumbers covered with hummus or tzatziki offer still another basic choice. She notes, “It’s refreshing and so satisfying.”

Ivy says for something sweet, dried figs along with some almonds. She says, “It’s the ideal ratio of protein to natural sugar.” And her olive tapenade on whole-grain crackers is a must-eat for those yearning something salty.

“Snacking doesn’t have to ruin your health goals,” Ivy notes. “It can support them with the proper decisions.” To find personal favorites, she advises playing about with Mediterranean components. “Healthy eating ought to be interesting and fun!”

Ivy also suggests for a crispy, nutrient-dense snack roasted chickpeas. She advises “just toss canned chickpeas with olive oil, paprika, and garlic powder then roast them until crispy.”

Ivy carries pre-portioned trail mix handy for hectic days. She says, “For a snack that feels decadent but is still healthy, mix nuts, dried fruit, and a few dark chocolate chips.”
