Heart health-conscious wellness coach Amber Steele offers her best meal ideas to help you lose weight without compromising the condition of your ticker.
“A heart-healthy diet stresses fresh, nutrient-dense foods, thus it is naturally weight-loss friendly,” Amber says.
Her menus abound in lean proteins, healthy fats, and fibrous foods. “The key is consistency and moderation,” Amber notes.
On whole-grain bread, try avocado toast for breakfast topped with chia seeds. Lunch calls for a vibrant chickpea and kale salad with a mild olive oil vinaigrette.
Dinner is roasted Brussels sprouts accompanied by grilled turkey burgers.
The advice Amber likes most is “Herbs instead of salt will spice up your dishes. It enhances taste without added sodium, which is absolutely essential for heart health.”
Among the snacks are hummus-dipped carrot sticks and air-popped popcorn topped with a bit of paprika or carrot powder. “Your body feels the difference when you feed your heart the correct nutrients,” Amber notes.
