Nina Clarke’s Low-Cholesterol Dinner Plans for Heart Health

Dedicated dietitian and mother of two Nina Clarke has set out to create low-cholesterol supper menus that are as delicious as they are good for keeping a heart-healthy lifestyle.

“Eating well doesn’t mean giving up on flavor,” Nina says with a kind grin. “It’s about choosing wisely that nourishes your body and quiesters’ needs.”

A Mediterranean-style lentil and spinach stew is one of her regular evening fare. Stocked with heart-friendly foods and plant-based proteins, this easy-to-make dinner is soothing.

Nina advises including lots of fresh garlic, which improves taste and aids cardiovascular health.

She advises a grilled salmon bowl topped with a zesty avocado salsa over quinoa for families that like variety. “Salmon is high in omega-3 fatty acids; combining it with quinoa offers a filling, cholesterol-free base,” Nina says.

To help one avoid grabbing for bad choices, Nina stresses the need of ahead food planning. Her suggestion? Spend Sunday evenings getting ready the weekly ingredients.

She says, “chopping vegetables, marinating proteins, and portioning meals can save you time and stress on busy weekdays.”

Nina thinks everyone can make great, heart-healthy meals the whole family will enjoy by making these little, reasonable adjustments.
