Ruby Cole understands the need of controlling her food since she suffers with Type 2 diabetes. Ruby, 52, has discovered how to maintain normal blood sugar levels free from feeling limited.
Her key is a well-balanced, diabetic-friendly diet including foods high in nutrients.
Ruby adds, “I used to believe living with diabetes meant giving up my favourite meals. But I now understand that balance and wise decisions rule everything.
Usually, Ruby starts her day with a substantial breakfast with whole-grain toast, avocado slices, and scrambled eggs. Lunch can call for grilled chicken, quinoa, and steamed broccoli on one side. She likes baked tilapia with a rainbow vegetable medley for dinner.
Her energy needs to be maintained by snacks. Ruby says, “I always have nuts or a small apple handy.”
Meal planning is among Ruby’s main advice. “Having dinners ready to go helps me avoid unhealthy options when I’m busy,” she says. She also underlines cautious reading food labels and controlling portions.
Ruby notes, “It’s about how you eat, not just what you eat.” Eating leisurely and appreciating her meals helps her to keep a good lifestyle without feeling deprived.
